To Ian's family, we are very sorry to hear of your sad loss, we are thinking of you in this sad time.

We have entered the Wythall Tournament the last two years running, & have really enjoyed it.  Ian was a lovely guy, & will be a great loss to your club.

What a great loss for Wythall Juniors and football in general.

Ian was a man with a strong character and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.  He was the one that welcomed Jack into Wythall Juniors, giving him lots of encouragement and only asked that he did his best, for that we will be eternally grateful.

God bless Ian, our wishes are with Sue Nick and Jason at this sad time.

Mark, Michelle Jack (JJ) and Jessica (under 15’s)

Having 1st met Ian, when Jason was in under 7's , I found a man that had the same passion, but bigger when it come to youth football, and making it better. His hard work at all levels in the game, for both the clubs he worked with and also his commitment to improve and reduce all foul play that is in our youth game.

When I was given the chance to work with Ian at Wythall FC with then the U13's side, it was a great pleasure, and indeed a experience to learn from his passion and commitment to both Wythall and the youth game at all levels. We all should take Ian's passion for making this youth game a better place for future children to play without pressure and take his commitment for fair play into our coaching and management of teams and players.

Ian, for me you have and will always have my greatest respect, I too have learnt from you, maybe the Wythall summer tournament can have a memorial cup in your name? I will be talking to John, on this. God bless to Sue and family, may your god bless you, see You in your world Ian on Thursday.

Vance Brownhill.

Ian was a truly great man never too busy to lend a helping hand, he has genuinely touched our family's life and we shall never forget his great character, we will miss his tales about the rabbits he adopted from us, when to my horror i found out we didn't have two females!!!! It was a privilege knowing you.
Rest in Peace Ian

To all in the Sanders Family.
I was shocked to hear that Ian had passed away and I share in your loss.
Over the years I knew Ian, I grew to respect him as a man that loved football and as a man that wanted to develop young footballers to reach their potential on the field whilst encouraging them to be respectful individuals.
Ian has contributed to youth football in this area and I am proud to have known him.

My thoughts are with you.

It was with great sadness that I read the notice on the CWYFL website and your tribute regarding the sad news of the passing away of Ian Sanders.

I do not claim to have known Ian well, but I have met him when he has been refereeing our matches. He truly was a nice person, warm, friendly and honest. It is a sad time for us all involved in football when one of it's highly liked and trusted members passes away.

Please pass on our best wishes to Ian's friends and family at this sad time for them on behalf of Hunt End Rangers of Redditch.

Yours sincerely,

Tom Kirkham (U16's manager and Secretary of Hunt End Rangers FC.)

There was nothing left to say that had not already been said about a truly remarkable man.

It was Connor's (aged 7) idea to choose a poem, so that was what he did:-

Oh Referee!

As soon as Ref pulled on the shirt
His senses went on to red alert
Ears flapped to catch every sound
Sturdy feet covered each inch of ground
Eyes wide open to each trick in the book
Dished out cautions ignoring dirty looks
After ninety minutes, a field of cramping limbs
No-one stops to consider him
When play is over, the game all done
Points are lost or shared or won
Do players ever stop to think
That the referee might like a drink?

Simon, Alison, CONNOR, Finlay
and all Wythall U8s managers, players and parents.

How tragic to hear of Ian passing away.  Ian introduced us to Wythall
Football Club a few years ago and he always supported and encouraged Ryan with his football.  We knew Ian as a kind gentle man, with a heart of
gold.  He will be a great loss to junior football.  Our thoughts are with
the family at this time.  Sue, Nick, Jason - keep in touch.

Marie and "Big" Ryan.
