WYTHALL JUNIORS  2,   Wychall Wanderers   3  @ B&SRFC   * ******************************** *
    * Man Of The Match *
The season is over, a long time until next, & the pitch was available, so    * Xavier PARKER *
why not make the most of it?  - Unfortunately for the players, the weather   * ******************************** *
was glorious, so the heat was going to take it's toll on everyone.  Wythall
hosted local rivals Wychall, in the last game of the season, albeit a
friendly, but still a game none the less.  The game started end to end, as it
was for the majority of the game, but a the game went on, the heat got     League Division 4
stronger, with mainly Wythall players looking more & more jaded.  Wychall     Sun 23rd May 2010
were the 1st to score in the 8th minute, when Xavier Parker made a good
stop on the edge of his penalty area, only for the ball to drop to a Wychall     Current Form
player at the far L/H corner of the Wythall area.  His 1st time shot, evaded     LLWWDW
everyone, & the ball nestled in the back of the Wythall net for 1-0.  It didn't
take too long for Wythall to pull the game back level though, when    No. Starting Team   Goals
former Wychall player George Sturdy, scored his 3rd goal in as many games   1 Xavier PARKER
against his former club, to draw the game level 1-1 on 12 minutes.     5 Dylan PARRY
Wythall started to play the ball around more, & went close on several   3 Scott SAUNDERS
ocassions, but for the great keeping from the Wychall keeper, who was    6 Jack FOX
superb.  After all the close chances, it was Wychall who went ahead again   16 Matt COLLIER
on 19 minutes, when they took full advantage of a defensive error, to slot   4 Jordan LINTON - MAISEY
the ball away for 2-1.  Again though Wythall went straight back on the    8 Jamie HASKER
attack, & new recruit Owen Walsh played a brilliant through ball to Sturdy   7 Kyle MULLALLY
who smashed his shot past the Wychall keeper for his 2nd goal of the   12 Joe EDROP
game, & 33rd of the season.   10 Charlie DONLAN ©
HALF TIME:  WYTHALL   2,  WYCHALL   2   9 George STURDY   2
The 2nd half was more end to end again, but with Wythall having the
more clear cut chances, but just not being able to beat the Wychall    No. Substitutes   Goals
keeper, time after time.  The more the game went on, the more dangerous   2 Tom EDROP
Wychall started to look, creating some good chances of their own.   15 Owen WALSH
The game was ultimately decided on 40 minutes, when the Wychall
midfielder was sent though on the left, managed to fly past the Wythall
defence, before dispatching a great effort past the superb Parker, for
Wychall to take the game 3-2.   Results

A long hard season over, & thankfully a rest for all the players!  On the day
Wychall just looked stronger & fitter, which was to prove vital on this hot
day.  Wythall festival up in two weeks, something different to look
forward to - 6-a-side for the 1st time ever.

Well done to all the players on a good solid season, hopefully we can
improve on this season & go on to win the league next year.

WYTHALL JUNIORS  3,   Santiago Colts   1  @ B&SRFC   * ******************************** *
    * Man Of The Match *
….& here it is, last league game of the campaign, then a long summer.   * Kyle MULLALLY *
Hopefully Wythall could re-capture the recent form of playing brilliantly,   * ******************************** *
that had eluded them in the last game against Hampton.  Wythall started
extremely strong pressing Santiago back, but were leaving themselves
suseptical to the counter-attack, which Santiago made Wythall pay on 15
minutes.  The counter-attack saw the Santiago right midfielder get to the      League Division 4
Wythall goaline, & put a dangerous low cross, across the 6 yard box, that     Sun 9th May April 2010
was failed to be dealt with, & former Wythall player AJ Clarke popped up
at the back post un-marked to score probably the easiest goal he'll ever     Current Form
score.  This spurned Santiago into life, & they started to get a better grip      LLWWDW
on the game themselves, making some good attacking moves, but
unable to penetrate the superb Wythall defence. Wythall regained some   No. Starting Team   Goals
control, & eventually got their reward on 20 minutes, when Captain   1 Xavier PARKER
Charlie Donlan finished off a good move down the left from 6 yards, when   5 Dylan PARRY
he steadied himself & smashed the ball past the Santiago keeper for 1-1.   3 Scott SAUNDERS
HALF TIME:  WYTHALL  1,   SANTIAGO  1   6 Jack FOX
The 2nd half saw Wythall dominate the play & with Kyle Mullally totally    16 Matt COLLIER
dominating the midfield, with his trickery, pace & power.  Bringing other   4 Jordan LINTON - MAISEY
players into the game brilliantly too, Mullally was a just in a different class   11 Callum BRIDGEWATER
of his own today.  Wythall took the lead after some strong pressing on   7 Kyle MULLALLY   1
Santiago, when Donlan, chasing his 34th goal of the season, shot across   8 Jamie HASKER
the Santiago keeper & saw his effort deflected in via the Santiago    10 Charlie DONLAN © 2
defender for 2-1.  Santiago then had a good 5 minute spell pressing   9 George STURDY
Wythall back again, but then it was business as usual again, with Wythall
regaining the momentum.  Mullally got his much deserved winning goal   No. Substitutes   Goals
on 46 minutes, when the ball was running back towards the Wythall goal   14 Austin WALKER - MANI
on the edge of the Santiago area.  Mullally regained the ball, turned well    12 Joe EDROP
smashed his shot from 19 yards over the keeper, off the bar, over the line &
back up into the top of the net for a brilliant goal, & end to the season.

Fantastic display & attitude from Wythall today, after being asked to go    Results
out & complete the job in style, you all did that brilliantly.  Some great
displays all over the field, but as above, Kyle Mullally was just sensational    Glades  2,  Chelmsley  1
today.  I could go through all the team, but I haven't enough writing    Hampton  L,  Oaklands  L
space!   Headless  L,  Farirfield  L
Well done lads, a long hard season, & promising for next season in all   Fairfield  L,  Headless  L
departments…great results, some very disappointing ones, but overall
you have done everyone proud all year.
After the Oaklands away game, when we got smashed, the season could
have continued like that to the end, but credit to you all, you played
Hollymoor the next game, & I know they have only won 1 game all season
but you destroyed them that day, & went on to play some excellent
football for the rest of the season….well done to everyone!

Next stop - WYTHALL JUNIORS FESTIVAL - Saturday 5th June………………..

WYTHALL JUNIORS  2,   Hampton Sports   2  @ B&SRFC   * ******************************** *
    * Man Of The Match *
The end of the season is coming to a close, & 4th place is already in the    * Joe EDROP *
bag, but a final push, & a little lucky, could even see Wythall end up 2nd…   * ******************************** *
Then the whistle blew to start the match.  Wythall started pretty good,
creating several chances, but not putting the ball away.  Hampton were
playing on the counter-attack, but meeting a strong Wythall defence.
Wythall got the 1st goal on 14 minutes when a good build up saw the ball     League Division 4
reach Kyle Mullally on the edge of the box.  His quick shift then 20 yard     WED 5th May April 2010
shot, sailed over the keeper into the back of the net for 1-0.   Wythall
though by this point had already resorted to old ways, of not playing any 1     Current Form
2's & taking the one extra touch too much, then losing the ball.       WLLWWD
Hampton were gaining more & more confidence, & starting to impose
themselves on the game more.  They got their reward on 20 minutes, when    No. Starting Team   Goals
Wythall failed to clear again, & the Hampton player took full advantage    1 Xavier PARKER
by scoring a cracking effort from 25 yards, over the helpless Xavier Parker    5 Dylan PARRY
in goal for 1-1.  Wythall though then scored on a counter-attack of their    3 Scott SAUNDERS
own just before half time, when Mullally sent George Sturdy though to    6 Jack FOX
take his goal well & put Wythall 2-1 up at half time.   2 Tom EDROP
HALF TIME:  WYTHALL  2,  HAMPTON  1   12 Joe EDROP
The 2nd half saw Wythall change to a 3-4-3 formation , then finally a 4-4-2   11 Callum BRIDGEWATER
to see what would happen.  At first, the 3-4-3 seemed to be working, with   7 Kyle MULLALLY   1
Wythall pressing hard, but with a couple of injuries etc, Wythall were    10 Charlie DONLAN ©
forced to play 4-4-2, to cope with the counter-attack Hampton were now   8 Jamie HASKER
really threatening Wythall with.  Hampton started to throw themselves into    9 George STURDY   1
every challenge & fight for every ball, looking like a team determind to get
the win.  They got their reward on 42 minutes, when they finally got their   No. Substitutes   Goals
2nd goal, & equalise for 2-2.   Wythall continued to get more & more    14 Austin WALKER - MANI
frustrated, being shut out on each occasion, & to be honest finding all   16 Matthew COLLIER
the changes unsettling.     4 Jordan LINTON - MAISEY
In the end Wythall were lucky not to come away from this game on the
end of a 3-2 loss, & looked jaded in the end.
    Results
Well done to Hampton who fully deserved the shared point.  If Wythall had
of put in as much determination as Hampton they would have won this   Santiago  2,  Ulverley  0
game comfortably.
A disappointing game from a Wythall point of view - 2 points thrown
away, - it sure feels like a loss.
From a 4-4-2 point of view, maybe we'll try it next season - maybe not,
don't hold your breath.  I truly believe 4-4-2 makes us the same as every
other team in the division, & today proved it.

WYTHALL JUNIORS  5,  Ulverley Hawks  2  @ B&SRFC   * ******************************** *
    * Man Of The Match *
Big game up tonight against Ulverley, sitting 2 points behind Wythall going   * George STURDY *
into this game. A win for Wythall would put a much needed gap between    * ******************************** *
the two teams.  Wythall went for a 3-5-2 formation to start with, to pack
the midfield again, & they pushed Ulverley right back into their own half.
The games first goal came on 7 minutes, when a corner was failed to be
cleared, & Tom Edrop popped up with a great shot over everyone from     League Division 4
16 yards into the Ulverley net for 1-0.  Wythall though then tried TOO hard,      FRI 30th April 2010
pressing at every occasion, but then being vunerable at the back.
Ulverley got their reward on 15 minutes, when a counter-attack ended      Current Form
with a left footed shot from 12 yards, evading everyone, & agonisingly     WWLLWW
crossing the line for 1-1.  Ulverley then upped the momentum & gained a
2nd goal with 2 minutes of the 1st half remaining.  Xavier Parker came to   No. Starting Team   Goals
the edge of his area to clear, but fouled the Ulverley forward as he went    1 Xavier PARKER
down, as he just couldn't get out of the way.  The Ulverley Midfielder    5 Dylan PARRY
stepped up & smashed his shot to the keepers right into the far L/H corner   3 Scott SAUNDERS
for 2-1.   6 Jack FOX
HALF TIME:  WYTHALL  1,  ULVERLEY  2   2 Tom EDROP   1
Wythall of late were getting a reputation for finishing games with a bang,   12 Joe EDROP   1
& today was no exception.  Ulverley came at Wythall for the 1st 5 mins of   11 Callum BRIDGEWATER
the 2nd half, & when Wythall tried to get the ball down, it was just getting   14 Austin WALKER - MANI
away from them.  Wythall eventually settled down, & started pushing   10 Charlie DONLAN © 2
Ulverley very hard for the remainder of the game.  Wythall pulled the game   8 Jamie HASKER
back level eventually on 37 minutes, when Captain Charlie Donlan    9 George STURDY   1
equalised.  The ball was scrapped for down the L/H side, before Kyle
Mullally got hold of it, slotted in Donlan, who rounded an Ulverley defender   No. Substitutes   Goals
the stroked the ball past the keeper for 2-2.  Straight from the kick off,    7 Kyle MULLALLY
George Sturdy dispossessed the Ulverley re-taker,& weaved his way through
basically the entire Ulverley team, before reaching the edge of the Ulverley
box, then shooting across the Ulverley keeper & into the far L/H corner for
3-2.  Wythall then changed formation to 3-4-3 to try & keep Ulverley pressed
even further back.  With 5 mins remaining Kyle Mullally received the ball on   Results
the half way line, rounded two Ulverley players then sent Joe Edrop clean
through on goal.  He shrugged off the advancing Ulverley defender &
smashed a brilliant strike across the Ulverley keeper into the far L/H corner
for a brilliant goal & 4-2.  Donlan then rounded up a great 2nd half
performance with his 32nd goal of the season, when Man of the Match
Sturdy, looped the ball into the Ulverley area, where Donlan controlled
well, side stepped the Ulverley defender then put his shot past the keeper
from 8 yards for 5-2.

Great finish to a great 2nd half performance, everyone played superb
AGAIN!  Great form as the season comes to a close, if Wythall continue this
form, they should finish on a high, & you just never know what will happen
with the other teams above you….football is a funny old game!
Well done lads, & to George Sturdy today's Man of the Match.

WYTHALL JUNIORS  2,  Chelmsley Town Youth  1  @ B&SRFC   * ******************************** *
    * Man Of The Match *
Wythall hosted Chelmsley tonight, minus a manager & a few players due    * Charlie DONLAN *
to injuries etc.  So Wythall lined up with 10 men in a 4-4-1 formation.  The    * ******************************** *
lads looked a bit daunted to started with but with Xavier Parker in good
form behind them, things started to settle down.  It was Chelmsley who
started off the better & had their fair few chance, but were thawted by
Parker in goal who stepped up to the challenge when required.  Wythall's     League Division 4
1st chance came on 10 mins, when a cross came off the shin pad of Jamie     Wed 28th April 2010
Hasker rather than his foot, to the delight of the Chelmsley keeper.  Then
the deadlock was broken on 14 mins when a super long Scott Saunders      Current Form
throw in was controlled by Charlie Donlan, who accelerated down the      WWWLLW
left past 3 players & crossed for Matthew Collier to hit his 1st time effort
past the dispairing Chelmsley keeper for the games 1st goal & Collier's well   No. Starting Team   Goals
deserved 1st goal for Wythall!  A Donlan corner on 22 mins was then met   1 Xavier PARKER
by Saunders who unfortunately blazed his shot just over the bar.  The rest   2 Tom EDROP
of the half was pretty much end to end, with neither team going close   5 Dylan PARRY
enough to change the scoreline.   6 Jack FOX
HALF TIME:  WYTHALL 1,  CHELMSLEY  0   3 Scott SAUNDERS
After a challenging 1st half working hard, Wythall played 'downhill' 2nd     12 Joe EDROP
half thankfully.  The game mirrored much of the 1st again with end to end    16 Matt COLLIER   1
play.  Wythall extended their lead on 37 minutes, when the hard working    14 Austin WALKER - MANI
Collier fought for the ball, ran down the right wing then brilliantly crossed   10 Charlie DONLAN © 1
for the awaiting Donlan who smashed his shot over the Chelmsley keeper   8 Jamie HASKER
for 2-0.  On 42 minutes, Austin Walker-Mani having a great game himself
found Jamie Hasker, who threaded his pass through 2 defenders to Donlan
who then saw his great effort strike the post, in what was the move of the   No. Substitutes   Goals
match.  Chelmsley though didn't lie down, & battled to the end, getting
their reward on 48 minutes.  Dylan Parry cleared the ball as far as the face
of a Chelmsley player, which ended up back with Jack Fox.  He then
cleared as far as the back of Tom Edrop, which saw the ball find the
Chelmsley forward who took his chance brilliantly to get their consilation
goal for an end result of 2-1.   Results

Tough game today with only 10 men, & key players unavailable, but you   Hollymoor  3,  Fairfield  8
all mucked in together & worked extremely hard for each other, in a team   Sanitago  L,  Headless  L
who have bonded brilliantly over the season.  Well done to you all, you
were superb.  You should all be proud of yourselves for your commitment   Castle Brom  L,  Glades  L
& effort.  Thanks to all the supporters, that helped keep the lads spirits up
& contributed to a much needed win going into the final three games.
Well done to Man of the Match Charlie Donlan, who raised his game &
produced a captains performance with a smile on his face….& also the
rest of the team who were brillaint.

Wythall host fellow highflyers Ulverley Hawks on Friday in which should be
a great game of football.

WYTHALL JUNIORS  1,  Oaklands Colts  4  @ B&SRFC   * ******************************** *
    * Man Of The Match *
A tough home fixture today against the very talented Oaklands Colts.   * Xavier PARKER *
Oaklands need the 3 points today to secure the Division 4 title, but Wythall   * ******************************** *
went out to try & dissappoint the Oaklands faithful.  Wythall lined up for
the 1st time ever, in a 5-4-1 formation.  This was mainly done as a measure
to stop Oaklands attacking the flanks like they did away, when they really
punished Wythall to the effect of a 13 goal rout.  - It worked.  Wythall     League Division 4
battled like trojans for each other & really frustrated Oaklands for the 1st      Sun 25th April 2010
half.  Wythall were tremendously solid for the 1st 25 minutes, & exploited
the counter-attack very well.  It was Wythall who got the 1st goal too, &     Current Form
well deserved on 15 minutes, when George Sturdy held the ball up well on     WWWWLL
the half way line, saw Charlie Donlan race past him, & then Sturdy
threaded the perfect through ball for him.  Donlan raced 25 yards,    No. Starting Team   Goals
composed himself as the Oaklands keeper came racing out, & slotted the   1 Xavier PARKER
ball into the bottom R/H corner from 18 yards for 1-0! - was this going to    16 Matthew COLLIER
be Wythall's day? - well it should have been, when Donlan again went    5 Dylan PARRY
racing through on 22 minutes, & fired an effort from just inside the    6 Jack FOX
Oaklands area.  The ball was arrowing into the bottom L/H corner, for a   3 Scott SAUNDERS
superb stike, but the Oaklands keeper pulled off, what could only be   12 Joe EDROP
described as a WORLD CLASS save, that any professional keeper would    8 Jamie HASKER
have been proud of!   Not to be out done though, Xavier Parker in goal   11 Callum BRIDGEWATER
for Wythall, then pull off his own unbelievable save late on, from an    7 Kyle MULLALLY
Oaklands freekick, that was heading for the top R/H corner, but somehow   10 Charlie DONLAN © 1
Parker pushed the ball onto the underside of the cross bar, before the ball   9 George STURDY
was somehow cleared from the Wythall area.
HALF TIME:  WYTHALL  1,  OAKLANDS  0   No. Substitutes   Goals
Having had frustrated Oaklands for the entire 1st half, Wythall were very    2 Tom EDROP
unlucky to conceed an early 2nd half goal after 28 minutes, to put    14 Austin WALKER - MANI
Oaklands back in the game.  This spurned Oaklands to press Wythall back
hard, until they scored their 2nd goal on 34 minutes to go ahead 2-1.
Wythall though then started to press Oaklands back again for the next 10
minutes, having some great chances of their own, but were met by some   Results
great Oaklands interceptions, & brilliant keeping.  Just as though Wythall
were looking more dangerous, Oaklands counter-attacked & won a    Chelmsley  1,  Castle Brom  0
dubious penalty on 44 minutes.  The resulting spot kick saw Oaklands    Headless  1,  Glades  2
extend their lead to 3-1 - a cruel blow for Wythall, who were playing    Glades  1,  Headless  1
superb.  Wythall then went to 4-4-2 for the remainder of the game to try &   PS Boys  1,  Hampton  0
somehow get something from this game, but on the break again,    Hampton 0,  PS Boys  0
Oaklands punished Wythall again with 3 minutes remaining for the final    Santiago  2,  Hollymoor 1
score of 4-1.   Ulverley  1,  Fairfield  1
    Fairfield  2,  Ulverley  0
A fantastic game of football, played in brilliant spirits, both sets of parents
enjoyed a party style banter, & it was a pleasure to be involved in.
Congratulations to Oaklands on winning the league, you have a very
talented team.  Well done to Xav in goal, who pulled off some
tremendous saves today - you were brilliant…..you ALL were in fact!

WYTHALL JUNIORS  0,  Fairfield Villa  Colts  1   @ B&SRFC   * Man Of The Match *
Another midweek fixture against Highflying Fairfield tonight.  Wythall were   * Jack FOX *
2 points ahead in 2nd place going into this game, but with Fairfield    * ******************************** *
having 3 games in hand, it was vital for Wythall to get a result from this
tie.  Wythall started extremely good, pressing Fairfield back.  Fairfield only
had 2 or 3 1st half chances, with Wythall peppering the Fairfield goal at
every opportunity.  George Sturdy came close on 19 minutes, when his      League Division 4
shot hit the bar, & then Jamie Hasker also had his effort dissallowed when     Thurs 22nd April 2010
he was judged just offside, keeping the game all level still.  Fairfield finding
the game difficult to get a grip of, then started to use a more physical      Current Form
approach.  This was a shame, as the game had been played in a brilliant     LWWWWL
spirit, but the Wythall players just got up & got on with the game, as they
always do, following the Respect campaign to the letter.   No. Starting Team   Goals
The referee however did little to protect the Wythall players, although he   1 Xavier PARKER
did warn about the fouls, but never followed up with any action.   3 Scott SAUNDERS
Is there a rule saying yellow & red cards are not allowed to be used at    5 Dylan PARRY
Under 11's level??   6 Jack FOX
HALF TIME:  WYTHALL  0,  FAIRFIELD  0   11 Callum BRIDGEWATER
The 2nd half saw Fairfield get a better hold of the game, & started to    10 Charlie DONLAN ©
pressure Wythall a lot more.  Each attack though was met by the ever    7 Kyle MULLALLY
reliable Wythall defence who AGAIN were absolutely superb.  Fairfield     16 Matthew COLLIER
were winning all the loose balls in midfield & all the headers, really    14 Austin WALKER - MANI
stamping their name on the game.  Wythall though continued to press at   8 Jamie HASKER
every opportunity, but failed to get any damaging efforts on target.   9 George STURDY
The game started to look as though a 0-0 draw was going to be the end
result, which would have been the fairest result of all.  Kyle Mullally who   No. Substitutes   Goals
was again superb & damaging in midfield , got the ball out wide of the    2 Tom EDROP
Fairfield penalty area.  With 3 Fairfield players now marking him he was   12 Joe EDROP
fouled on the edge of the area, got up to his credit, but with 3 players still
harrassing him & with him having no where to go, + waiting for the ref to
signal for the freekick, he surprised everyone by waving play on &
signalling 'advantage!??!'  Fairfield then cleared easily & ended up winning   Results
a corner as a result.  The next clearance saw Fairfield re-gain possession, &
thread a great ball through to Alfie Bloomer, who turned the Wythall    Oaklands  5,  Santiago  0
defence, with his silky skills, & somehow flicked the ball over Xavier Parker     Castle Brom 2,  PS Boys  0
in goal with an excellent finish with the outside of his right foot.

Very hard luck today for the lads, who didn't deserve to lose today.  You
were far superior the 1st half, & proved how good you all can be.  The 2nd
half was a little flatter, & if you don't take your chances, they will cost you
in the end.  It doesn't help that you played against 12 players today either
& that football can sometimes be cruel even to 11 year olds, but in

    * Man Of The Match *
After the last 3 games of brilliant convincing victories, Wythall faced by far    * Jamie HASKER *
their toughest opponents at Home this season.  Both team were sitting   * ******************************** *
on 27 points going into this game, & with Glades having a game in hand,
it was vital for Wythall to gain 3 points today.  Wythall too, having NEVER
beaten Glades before, had an extra incentive to get something from the
game.  The game started fast & furious, with end to end attacks, with      League Division 4
both teams having some great opportunites.  The 1st goal came on 12      Sun 18th April 2010
mins, when George Sturdy, who is usually sticking the ball in the net, turned
incredible assister today with his brilliant display, crossing brilliantly from the     Current Form
touchline, across to Jamie Hasker, who finished neatly for 1-0.  Glades then     DLWWWW
turned up the heat, & got a goal back on 16 mins, when a controversial
corner, ended up being finished from 5 yards to bring the game level at    No. Starting Team   Goals
1-1.  Glades then turned the screw even further, when a failed clearance    1 Xavier PARKER
saw Glades Captain Thomas Donlan, nip through several players, & then    3 Scott SAUNDERS
cross from a very tight angle, to an unmarked Glades centre forward, who   5 Dylan PARRY
finished enthatically from 4 yards out for 2-1.  Wythall looked stunned, but   6 Jack FOX
got straight back on the case.  Several attacks later, Wythall were    11 Callum BRIDGEWATER
awarded a late 1st half corner.  Sturdy's trademark dangerous corners,    10 Charlie DONLAN ©
caused problems once more, when he found Mullally, who controlled &   7 Kyle MULLALLY   1
fired his shot over the Glades keeper from 14 yards out to bring the game   16 Matthew COLLIER
level at 2-2.   14 Austin WALKER - MANI
HALF TIME:  WYTHALL  2,  GLADES  2   8 Jamie HASKER   3
After a fantastic 1st half of football, Wythall then needed to up the tempo   9 George STURDY
once more to push on for the win, after coming back into the game.
The game was end to end again for much of the half, with Wythall having   No. Substitutes   Goals
the more clear cut of the chances, but unable to finish it off.  The 5th goal   18 Adam SANKEY
of the game, came on 36 mins, when yet another great bit of football    12 Joe EDROP
from Sturdy again, saw the ball crossed to Hasker, who volleyed his ball   2 Tom EDROP
past the Glades keeper for 3-2.  The game got even better then, football
wise when both teams played some very good passing football, which
would have been great from a neutral point of view.  Both teams showed   Results
how the game should be played with some great football & brilliant
passion.  It was Wythall though who would come out the games winners.   Castle Brom  3,  Hollymoor  1
After Sturdy hit the bar on 43 minutes, & then going close again a minute   Hollymoor  1,  Castle Brom  1
later, the final goal eventually came on 46 minutes.  Wythall were    Fairfield Villa  0,  Oaklands  4
awarded a corner, after another good attack.  Dangerous Sturdy,    Hampton  0,  Santiago  2
whipped in another horrible corner to defend, & Hasker finished it off from    Santiago  1,  Hampton  0
2 yards out with the help of his butt, for his hatrick.     Headless  3,  Chelmsley  3
    Ulverley  1,  PS Boys  3
A great game of football today, everyone would have been extremely
proud of a brilliant Wythall performance, with virtually every player playing
fantastic today.  Jamie Hasker just shaded the Man of the Match today
over George Sturdy, who as a front pairing proved deadly today.  Sturdy
assisted all todays goals & was superb, but Hasker has to just come out on
top with a hatrick to his name! - well done boys - keep going now!

Hampton Sports  1,  WYTHALL JUNIORS  5  @ Hampton Sports Centre   * ******************************** *
    * Man Of The Match *
A midweek fixture again tonight Away to Hampton Sports.  It made a    * Matthew COLLIER *
pleasant change to play on a bigger pitch for once again, although still   * ******************************** *
not the biggest!  Anyway, Wythall looked ready for the task facing up to
Hampton with the bare 11 players again.  Wythall started quick out the
blocks again, pressing from the off, in a pretty even 1st 10 minutes.  Wythall
just couldn't supply the finishing touch.  The games 1st goal came via a      League Division 4
penalty on 12 minutes.  Hampton were awarded it for a straight forward     Sun 15th April 2010
clear cut foul on the Hampton Right midfielder as he raced into the
Wythall area.  The Hampton no.8 stepped up & smashed it past Xavier      Current Form
Parker in goal for 1-0.  Wythall then pessed extremely hard for the next 10      DDLWWW
mins, playing some good football in stages.  The 1st Wythall reply came on
17 minutes, when Goal Machine George Sturdy scored a sensational volley   No. Starting Team   Goals
from 16 yards out from a cross, which nestled in the top L/H corner, only for   1 Xavier PARKER
the linesman to put his flag up.  The ref went over & explained the offside   3 Scott SAUNDERS   1
rule & then awarded the goal.  2-1 came with 2 minutes of the 1st half   5 Dylan PARRY
remaining, when Captain Charlie Donlan received the ball just outside the   6 Jack FOX
Hampton box, laid in Kyle Mullally, for a 1 - 2, before passing to Jamie    11 Callum BRIDGEWATER
Hasker just inside the penalty area.  Hasker held the ball up just long    10 Charlie DONLAN © 2
enough for two Hampton player to be drawn towards him, before laying    7 Kyle MULLALLY
the ball back to a then unmarked Donlan, who turned towards the    16 Matthew COLLIER
Hampton goal & gave the keeper no chance with his excellent finish.   14 Austin WALKER - MANI
Wythall then saw the games best piece of individual play, when Matthew   8 Jamie HASKER
Collier decided to take on the entire Hampton side by himself.  He    9 George STURDY   2
received the ball just inside his own half, rounded two players instantly,
went past another two, rode a hard challenge, then past another two   No. Substitutes   Goals
before going wide into the Hampton box, & playing a quick 1 -2 with
Donlan, & then getting his shot off, just going wide.
HALF TIME:  HAMPTON 1,  WYTHALL 2
The 2nd half saw Wythall run absolute riot!  Wythall played probably the
best passing football of the season, linking up play nicely, threading great
through balls, you name it, the lads did it in the 2nd half.  Mullally was   Results
instrumental in getting the ball into dangerous areas, bossing the game
from start to finish.  Wythall extended the lead to 3-1 on 30 minutes, when     PS Boys  2,  Glades  1
George Sturdy completed his 29th goal of the season, with another
cracking goal, then Charlie Donlan scored his 2nd also - another great
finish to go onto 28 goals for the season for him too!!  The games scoring
came to a finish on 42 minutes, when Scott Saunders got his 1st ever
Wythall goal from 20 yards out, when his shot looped over the keeper &
across the line 'helped' in by the awaiting Sturdy, who could of clained
his hatrick, but sportingly, admitted the ball had already crossed the line.

I could go on & on about all the good things that happened in this
brilliant game - a fantastic atmosphere from both sets of parents, the ref
was superb, & the lads from both sides showed how football should be
played…….BRILLIANT lads, keep it up!!

Headless Cross  1,  WYTHALL JUNIORS  6  @ Morton Stanley Park   * ******************************** *
    * Man Of The Match *
Trip over to Morton Stanley Park this week, against Headless Cross who    * George STUDY *
were sitting 1 point above Wythall going into the game.  Wythall were    * ******************************** *
met with the smallest pitch they've played on this season, & were worried
like against PS Boys's small pitch also, that they would struggle again.
The 1st half proved right, as Wythall struggled to get hold of the ball, &
when they did, they were running out of room again.  When Wythall did     League Division 4
press forward with the ball, they were denied by a hard working Headless     Sun 11th April 2010
team who really starting to frustrate Wythall.  Wythall though were 1st to
break the deadlock, & it was through goal machine George Sturdy, who     Current Form
volleyed his shot into the top R/H corner from the edge of the Headless      WDDLWW
area for a brilliant finish & 1-0.  The lead was short lived though, when a
Headless Corner caused some confusion in the Wythall area, & the ball   No. Starting Team   Goals
ended in the back of the Wythall net via an own goal.    1 Xavier PARKER
HALF TIME:  HEADLESS  1,  WYTHALL  1   3 Scott SAUNDERS
After a half time team talk of calming instructions, Wythall started to play    5 Dylan PARRY
smart, & passed the ball around the middle of the park brilliantly.  They    6 Jack FOX
were rewarded on 30 minutes, when the very lively impressive Sturdy,    11 Callum BRIDGEWATER
added his 2nd of the game, with another superb finish to beat the    10 Charlie DONLAN © 2
Headless keeper from 15 yards & make the game 2-1.  Sturdy then    7 Kyle MULLALLY
completed his hatrick on 34 minutes, for his 2nd hatrick in as many games,    16 Matthew COLLIER
when his powerful shot beat the Headless keeper from around 15 yards    14 Austin WALKER - MANI
again, but more centrally this time, for a well deserved hatrrick & help on   8 Jamie HASKER   1
his way to the Man of the Match performance.  This spurned Wythall onto    9 George STURDY   3
totally dominate the game from then on, & attack Headless relentlessly
for the next 20 minutes.  The games 5th goal came on 38 mins,  when a    No. Substitutes   Goals
Headless corner ended with Kyle Mullally gaining the ball on the
edge of his own penalty area.  He then weaved past several Headless
players, crossed the half way line, & then threaded a fantastic through ball
to Sturdy, who got the the touchline, then crossed brilliantly into the 6
yard box, where Jamie Hasker added the finishing touch, by placing his
shot across the Headless keeper into the far R/H bottom corner for 4-1.   Results
5-1 came on 44 minutes, when another Wythall attack saw the ball being
frantically hacked at, to clear the Headless penatly area, only for the ball    Fairfield  0,  Santiago  2
to head back to the Headless keeper.  Captain Charlie Donlan though    Santiago  0,  Fairfield  1
harrassed down the keeper, & he followed up to score from 2 yards out.     Glades  6,  Hollymoor  0
Donlan then wrapped up the scoring with 2 minutes left, when he was   Hampton  0,  Castle Brom  5
laid in by Hasker, & then scored brilliantly across the Headless keeper into   PS Boys  5,  Chelmsley  1
the far R/H corner, for another great day of football for Wythall.     Ulverley  0,  Oaklands  10

After a pretty poor 1st half display, Wythall kept composure, & went on to
totally dominate the game & fully deserve the 3 points.  Noticable great
performances today, came partically from Man of the Match Sturdy who
was BRILLIANT again, Jack Fox, proving to be a great defender this year,
& Scott Saunders who was solid all game.  The team as a WHOLE though
were excellent, & ALL fully deserve the praise - Well done lads!!

WYTHALL JUNIORS  10,  Hollymoor  0  @ B&SRFC   * ******************************** *
    * Man Of The Match *
After the midweek distaster, Wythall were looking today to bounce back,   * Kyle MULLALLY *
& generally start playing some football again.  The 1st 10 minutes though   * ******************************** *
was pretty aweful, & Hollymoor had only 9 players on the field.  Then
everything changed.  Hollymoor eventually got up to 10 players, & Wythall
started to play football at last.  Kyle Mullally, who as usual is instrumental
in getting the game going for Wythall, shined again, as he got the game      League Division 4
by the scruff of the neck & started to get other players into the game also.     Sun 4th April 2010
He was rewarded on 12 minutes, with the games 1st goal, to the relief of
the Wythall managers, who was just starting to think it was going to be      Current Form
one of those days again.  His strike from 12 yards across goal, hit the far     DWDDLW
R/H post & back across the line for 1-0.  Wythall then ran riot for the next
10 minutes, producing attack after attack, looking more like the Wythall    No. Starting Team   Goals
of old, & with the bonus of the ball hitting the back of the net too!     1 Xavier PARKER
Mullally made it 2-0 after 16 minutes, when an extremely dangerous George   3 Scott SAUNDERS
Sturdy corner found his head, & he directed low into the far L/H corner, for   5 Dylan PARRY
an excellent goal.  Then came another Sturdy corner, that was cleared out   6 Jack FOX
of the Hollymoor box, only for Joe Edrop to fire over the Hollymoor keeper   12 Joe EDROP   1
from 20 yards out for a brilliant finish & his 2nd of the season for 3-0.  4-0    10 Charlie DONLAN © 2
came almost straight from the re-start, when George Sturdy finally got off   7 Kyle MULLALLY   3
the mark, just as he was looking as though he was never going to score   16 Matthew COLLIER
today.  Jamie Hasker then got the games 5th goal, when Austin Walker -   14 Austin WALKER - MANI
Mani & Mullally combined on the edge of the Hollymoor box, before     8 Jamie HASKER   1
Mullally crossed & Hasker mopped up to go 5-0 up.  The 6th goal then   9 George STURDY   3
came with 2 minutes left of the half, when Captain Charlie Donlan,
desperate to get off the mark, skipped past two players, before flicking the   No. Substitutes   Goals
ball past the Hollymoor keeper for 6-0.   2 Tom EDROP
HALF TIME:  WYTHALL  6,  HOLLYMOOR  0
The 2nd half saw Wythall carry on where they left off, but they looked far
more relaxed in their passing & movement, & looking as though they were
all enjoying playing again.  Sturdy added the 7th goal of the game, when
he attacked into the Hollymoor box, looked as though he went too wide    Results
but somehow flicked the ball past the advancing keeper for a brilliant
finish for 7-0.  Mullally then got his well deserved Hatrick after a fantastic    Castle Brom  0,  Ulverley  1
performance from him for 8-0, when his shot again came off the opposite   Ulverley  3,  Castle Brom  0
post this time & nestle in the net.  Sturdy then went on to get his hatrick    Chelmsley  0,  Santiago  0
also next, for also his 3rd Hatrick of the season for 9-0, before Donlan then    Santiago  2,  Chelmsley  3
went on to score probably the goal of the game, when he took on 2    Oaklands  13,  Headless Cross  0
Hollymoor players on the halfway line, went around another, before
luring in 2 more players, ghosting around them, to set himself up with a 1
on 1 with still 30 yards to go, then finishing cooly for 10-0.

A quite BRILLIANT response to the mid week mauling, dragging back them
13 goal deficeits, to put the goal difference back right up again.  With
Headless Cross up next, what a time to get everything right, with them a
point ahead.  - A must win next week, to gain some ground on the rest.

Oaklands Colts  13,  WYTHALL JUNIORS   0  @ Hamstead Park   * ******************************** *
    * Man Of The Match *
After Sundays fantastic performance, Wythall were up against formidable    * - *
opposition this week in our 1st night game.  The result Sunday, beating a    * ******************************** *
Premier Division team should have stood Wythall in good sted for
confidence going into this game.  The preparations though couldn't have
got any worse.  The game didn't actually kick off until 18:50, as most of the
team were held up in the traffic on the way to the ground due to a big     League Division 4
accident.  Wythall turned up, & basically played - or tried to, or even didn't     Wed 1st April 2010
try!  Oaklands were 4-0 inside the 1st 10 minutes!  Not taking anything away
from what is undoubtably & unbelievable talented team that should      Current Form
never have been put in division 4 to start with.  They were dangerous in      WDWDDL
every position, & made us look extremely terrible, although most of the
team made them look like professionals at times.  Wythall actually started     No. Starting Team   Goals
to settle down after around 18 minutes, & started to have a couple of    1 Xavier PARKER
attacks of their own, but then the half time whistle blew…..   3 Scott SAUNDERS
HALF TIME:  OAKLANDS  4,  WYTHALL  0   5 Dylan PARRY
Then complete disaster.  A few changes were made to give people games   6 Jack FOX
as there didn't look like any real chance of getting anything from this    4 Jordan LINTON - MAISEY
game.  Maybe too many changes at once didn't help, but Wythall just    10 Charlie DONLAN ©
didn't look interested at all, & only tried when the ball, on rare occasion   7 Kyle MULLALLY
reached he Oaklands half.  Oaklands though basically penned Wythall in   16 Matthew COLLIER
their own half for the remainder of the game.  The ball was spread wide at   14 Austin WALKER - MANI
every possible occasion, & Oaklands damaged Wythall at ever attack    8 Jamie HASKER
regardless of whether they scored of not.  Some brilliant football to watch   9 George STURDY
from a neutral point of view, & fanatical if you were an Oaklands parent!
Oaklands scored inside the 1st 2 minutes of the half, for what can only be   No. Substitutes   Goals
discribed as an extremely poor goal to conceed, which contributed to the   18 Adam SANKEY
total collapse of an already woeful performance.  Oaklands then rained   2 Tom EDROP
in the goals to match the terrible weather also.     12 Joe EDROP
I have never felt so embarressed after a game - ever, even back to our 1st
season when we only won 1 game in the entire season.  The lads REALLY
need to remember the basics of pass & move - which was dire today, &   Results
secondly - you don't roll over & give up, regardless of the situation.
A one-off performance today, & will never expect to see that again, even    -
when the return fixture comes up in a couple of weeks at home.
The only thing I can say at the end of this is - APRIL FOOLS!!!
Only joking! We won 2-0 really……….!!  Then I woke up & remembered it
was after 12:00pm so the fool was actually ME.
Hollymoor up next Sunday, hopefully they won't get their 1st 3 points, of
the season,  although Hollymoor will bring their never say die attitude with
them, which is what we desperatly needed today. - watch this space…..

WYTHALL JUNIORS   4,   Solihull Juniors  1  (Premier Division) @ B&SRFC   * ******************************** *
    * Man Of The Match *
After not been given a fixture AGAIN(arrgghh!), Wythall were left with    * Jack FOX *
sorting another friendly out, to keep the lads ready for the remainder of    * ******************************** *
the season.  Wythall hosted Premier Division outfit Solihull Juniors today,
in what was surely going to be a massive test.  Missing a couple of players
this week though, didn't seem to effect the lads one bit, as they went for
the juggular from the off.  Wythall pressed hard for the 1st 10 minutes, with     Friendly
Captain Charlie Donlan striking the post with a long range free kick, but     Sun 28th March 2010
with Wythall unable to finish off the rebound.  Donlan though got his
deserved goal on 13 minutes, when a great George Sturdy run, ended      Current Form
with a good interception, only for Matthew Collier to retrieve the ball,     WWDWDD
turn into the Solihull area, striking the ball low.  The keeper failed to hold
the ball, & Donlan was on hand to slot the ball home for 1-0.  Donlan then   No. Starting Team   Goals
added his 2nd of the game on 15 minutes, when Kyle Mullally received the    1 Xavier PARKER   1
ball just outside the area, danced past two Solihull defenders, before    3 Scott SAUNDERS
laying in Donlan, who steered his shot low & wide past the Solihull keeper   5 Dylan PARRY
into the bottom R/H corner for 2-0.   Solihull then started to come back   6 Jack FOX
into the game, & got their reward on 20 minutes, after a corner was    11 Callum BRIDGEWATER
finished off, after a good Parker save & Jack Fox block, fell to the Solihull   10 Charlie DONLAN © 2
forward who tapped it in from 2 yards.  Wythall then started playing more   7 Kyle MULLALLY
football again, after George Sturdy went straight from kick-off, dribbled   14 Austin WALKER - MANI
around 6 players, but was un-luckily denied by the advancing Solihull    15 Owen WALSH
keeper.  Sturdy was then again involved with the 3rd Wythall goal, when    16 Matthew COLLIER
his great dribbling run ended with him being clumsily up-ended for a late   9 George STURDY   1
1st half penalty.  Having missed the last penalty miserably, Xavier Parker
stepped up & cooly slotted his shot low, into the bottom L/H corner for 3-1.   No. Substitutes   Goals
HALF TIME: WYTHALL  3,  SOLIHULL  1   18 Adam SANKEY
The 2nd half saw Wythall come out all guns blazing again, playing some   8 Jamie HASKER
of their best football of the season, slicing Solihull open on numerous
ocassions, with Kyle Mullally being instrumental throughout the game.
When Solihull attacked though they were met with probably the best
Wythall defensive display of the season, being absolutely superb all game.   Results
Jack Fox was instrumental also today, playing like Bobby Moore at times -
by far his best display in his 3 years with the club, absolutely brilliant to    Chelmsley  1,  Headless  3
watch.  Wythall extended their lead on 45 minutes, when another brilliant   Hampton  1,  Ulverley  3
Mullally run, going past 4 Solihull players, saw him cross low across the   Hollymoor  0,  Santiago  2
Solihull area, to the un-marked Sturdy, who deservedly got his reward with   Oaklands  7,  Fairfield  0
an easy finish from 4 yards out for 4-1.   PS Boys  2,  Castle Brom  1
BRILLAINT display from EVERY player today, very hard to pick a Man of the
Match when everyone plays lie that! - Jack Fox though as mentioned
above, was at another level today - At last a deserved scalping!

PS Boys   2,    WYTHALL JUNIORS    2       @ Oaklands Rec   * ******************************** *
    * Man Of The Match *
PS Boys up this week, & last time out Wythall ran out 5-0 winners, playing    * Scott SAUNDERS *
some great football all over the park.  Today saw Wythall on the narrowest   * ******************************** *
pitch they've played on this season, & proved a big problem for the
Wythall passing game, with the lads running out of space all the time.
Wythall though started extremely strong, penning PS Boys into their own
half for the majority of the 1st half.  Chance after chance went Wythall's     League Division 4
way, but they never capitalised on the chances at all.  Wythall should've     Sun 21st March 2009
been awarded a penalty on 18 minutes, when George Sturdy was fouled
inside the PS Boys penalty area, only to see the ref put the foul back to the      Current Form
edge of the penalty area, to the thank-you's of the PS Boys coaching staff!     WWDWDD
Wythall continued to be frustrated by a resiliant PS Boys team, who's
defence played out of their skin today, particulary the PS Boys no.4 & no.7   No. Starting Team   Goals
who were instrumental at keeping Wythall at bay.   1 Xavier PARKER
HALF TIME:  PS BOYS 0,  WYTHALL  0   3 Scott SAUNDERS
The 2nd half, after all the frustrations saw Wythall eventually break the    5 Dylan PARRY
deadlock on 27 minutes, when Jamie Hasker received the ball on the   6 Jack FOX
edge of the PS Boys area, slide in Kyle Mullally, who slotted Jordan    4 Jordan LINTON - MAISEY   1
Linton-Maisey the ball.  Linton-Maisey steadied himself, before sliding the    11 Callum BRIDGEWATER
ball under the PS Boys keeper for his 2nd goal in as many games for 1-0.   7 Kyle MULLALLY   1
This should have spurred Wythall on to finish the job.  PS Boys turned up the    16 Matthew COLLIER
heat instead, & started to knock the ball about themselves a little.  They   10 Charlie DONLAN ©
were eventually given a deserved equaliser on 37 minutes when a corner   8 Jamie HASKER
saw the ball come off a Wythall player & into the Wythall net for 1-1.     9 George STURDY
The ball then became end to end, with both teams going close on a few
ocassions.  Just as though the game was going to end with a 1-1 draw,    No. Substitutes   Goals
yet another Wythall defensive error, let in PS Boys, & their captain finished   12 Joe EDROP
superbly to go 2-1 ahead with 2 minutes remaining.  Just as though Wythall    2 Tom EDROP
had gone & thrown the game away though, straight from kick-off, Wythall    14 Austin WALKER - MANI
went straight up the other end & equalised, with just a minute remaining.
Mullally strode into the PS Boys area, unleashed his shot, & just as though it
looked as though Donlan was going to just tap home from 5 yards out,   Results
the PS Boys defender got there 1st, but guided the ball past his own keeper
to bring the ball back level 2-2, although to a hesitation to everyone,   Chelmsley  4,  Hampton  2
when the linesman stuck up his flag.  The ref fortunately over ruled, & the    Glades  0,  Fairfield  2
goal stood, for what was a fair result in the end.   Headless  2,  Castle Brom  1
Man of the Match today was Scott Saunders who was superb all game!   Ulverley  4,  Hollymoor  2
Yet another dissapointing day today for everyone, another 2 points
dropped in our eyes, but Wythall are just not capitalising on all the
possession - again.  Got out of jail in the end to get the point, but it sure
feels like a loss again.  Wythall play Premier team Solihull Juniors next week.

Castle Bromwich United  'A'   5,  WYTHALL JUNIORS   1 @ Shard End  PF   * ******************************** *
    * Man Of The Match *
Not having a game on a Sunday was starting to become a habit for    * Jordan LINTON-MAISEY *
Wythall, so instead of yet another week without a game, Castle Bromwich   * ******************************** *
United 1st team played host to Wythall today.  Castle Brom currently reside
in division 1, so this was a big test for Wythall.  Wythall started extremely
brightly, & took the game straight to Castle Brom.  The game though
started to even out though after 5 minutes or so, & became more end to      Friendly
end.  Castle Brom were the 1st to break the deadlock though on 13 mins,      Sun 14th March 2009
When a high looped cross come shot, somehow found it's way into the
back of the net, for a dreadful goal to conceed.  Wythall though kept at     Current Form
it, & started to get the better of the game as the half panned out.  A quick     WWWDWD
throw at the half way line was headed on by Captain Kyle Mullally,  the
ball was shifted quickly around, & Mullally received it back on the edge of   No. Starting Team   Goals
the Castle Brom penalty area.  His quick feet & pace took him past two   1 Xavier PARKER
defenders, then he laid a brilliant ball onto the very impressive Jordan    3 Scott SAUNDERS
Linton-Maisey, who pressed forward towards the 6 yard box, before sliding    5 Dylan PARRY
the ball past the oncoming keeper into the bottom R/H corner to draw the   6 Jack FOX
game level at 1-1.   4 Jordan LINTON - MAISEY   1
HALF TIME:  CASTLE BROM  1,  WYTHALL  1   11 Callum BRIDGEWATER
The 2nd half started extremely well again for Wythall, as they continued to    7 Kyle MULLALLY ©
press Castle Brom back.  The midfield were starting to play some very    14 Austin WALKER - MANI
impressive football indeed, but just couldn't take advantage of the good   2 Tom EDROP
possession, although should have gone ahead on 32 minutes, when    8 Jamie HASKER
George Sturdy was denied at close range.  Then came the 'Mad' 7 minutes.   18 Adam SANKEY
Wythall went from 1-1 to 5-1 down in that crazy 7 minutes.  3 of them goals
were the most calamity ever witness from the Wythall point of view, with   No. Substitutes   Goals
some horrendous mistakes being made.  The 3rd Castle Brom goal though   10 Charlie DONLAN
was actually very brilliantly taken & a class finish from the Castle Brom   9 George STURDY
forward.  A short goal kick was controlled easily by the Castle Brom players   12 Joe EDROP
they split the Wythall defence with a brilliant through ball, & was finished    16 Matthew COLLIER
off with an absolute sublim chip over Xavier Parker in goal for 3-1 at the
time.  Wythall were then given the chance to get back in the game, when    Results
Wythall were awarded a penalty for a handball.  Parker came up the field
out of goal, & having not missed a penalty before, seemed certain to get   Castle Brom  0,  Hampton  1
the game up & running again for Wythall.  But to add insult to injury, &    Glades  3,  Santiago  2
really put the icing on the cake for them 7 minutes, Parker almost    Hollymoor  0,  Chelmsley  3
completely missed the spot kick, & his scuffed effort rolled slowly at the    PS Boys  1,  Ulverley  2
grateful Castle Brom keeper who simply bent down & picked up the ball.

A terrible finish to the day, & one to definitely forget, although the 1st half
& following 10 mins of the 2nd was very good indeed. - shame really.

Chelmsley Town Youth  1,  WYTHALL JUNIORS   1   * ******************************** *
    * Man Of The Match *
After last weeks fanastic performance, Wythall Travelled over to    * Callum BRIDGEWATER *
Chelmsley Town this week, in search of another 3 ponts.  Chelmsley had to   * ******************************** *
play with 9 men last week, so with 11 on the pitch this week, looked to
gain some ground of their own.  The game started extremely scrappy,
with the ball being 'haked' about in the centre circle.  Wythall started to
get a grip on the game after 10 minutes, & started to attack more.       League Division 4
Wythall hit the bar after a great driving run from George Sturdy, saw his     Sun 14th February 2009
shot cannon back off the bar, then 5 minutes later, Charlie Donlan it the
L/H post too.  The Wythall defence was holding out strong too, when the      Current Form
Chelmsley counter-attack started, Wythall soaked up the pressure & then     WWWDWD
counter-aatacked themselves, but final touches, or last second bad
descisions saw the half time score go in all square.   No. Starting Team   Goals
HALF TIME: CHELMSLEY  0,  WYTHALL  0   1 Xavier PARKER
After explicite instructions at half time, Wythall decided to ignore them all   4 Jordan LINTON - MAISEY
& saw the ball in the back of their own net in the 1st 2 minutes!  A lapse   5 Dylan PARRY
in concentration again, saw the Chelmsley no.3 charge forward, & from   6 Jack FOX
the edge of the Wythall box, struck a fantastic effort into the top L/H    11 Callum BRIDGEWATER
corner for a 1-0 lead against the run of play.  Wythall responded by    10 Charlie DONLAN ©
actually starting to pass the ball around, & looked very good for 10 mins   7 Kyle MULLALLY
cutting Chelmsley open, but just never getting the last 3rd of the pitch    14 Austin WALKER - MANI
decision right, wasting opportunities after opportunities.  Just as though    12 Joe EDROP
it was going to be one of those days again, Wythall gained a corner with   8 Jamie HASKER
7 minutes remaining.  A dangerous Sturdy corner, saw Kyle Mullally crash   9 George STURDY
his shot against the bar from 8 yards out, a mini scramble, before Tom
Edrop's shot deflected off a Chemsley player & into the top L/H corner for   No. Substitutes   Goals
1-1.  The game limped out to the final whistle then with neither team   18 Adam SANKEY
really causing many problems in the final 3rd again.   2 Tom EDROP   1
    3 Scott SAUNDERS
The Chelmsley Manager commented to the lads at the end, that they
passed the ball around much better than his lads, & were basically
unlucky to not take all three points, which was extremely nice of him, but   Results
unfortunatley doesn't win you three points.  Disappointing day today,
with certain players thinking they can just turn up & get a guaranteed
spot every week, not putting in ANY effort for the TEAM.  Changes WILL be   Headless  2,  Hampton  1
made next week, so hopefully the  players will prove their place in training    Hollymoor  0,  Ulverley  5
on Friday.     PS Boys  1,  Oaklands  6
Special mention firstly to Callum Bridgewater, who generally goes
un-noticed all game, but his extremely hard work ethic behind the 'scenes'
should be noted by EVERY player, he is a shining example of being a team
player.  - The defence was also FANTASTIC today - well done to you guys.

WYTHALL JUNIORS   5,    PS Boys   0   @ B&SRFC    * ******************************** *
    * Man Of The Match *
AT LAST! A game after almost 2 months of sitting at home dreaming about   * Tom EDROP *
playing again…..Today saw Wythall host 5th placed PS Boys, 1 point    * ******************************** *
behind with a game in hand, so it was crucial to try & get a result today.
Wythall didn't disappoint & went for the win from the kick off.  Wythall
got off to the perfect start with Captain Charlie Donlan extending his
goal tally to 12 league goals this season, with his first after only 2 minutes.     League Division 4
A smart interchange at the half way line saw Donlan bear down on goal,     Sun 7th February 2009
go a little wide right before smashing his shot past the PS Boys keeper from
6 yards out.  Donlan scored his 2nd goal on 7 minutes, when Jamie Hasker     Current Form
put him in with a pin point pass for Donlan to score easily for 2-0 from 5      LWWWDW
yards out.  Wythall dominated the rest of the game, putting great moves
together, & keeping the ball moving on the floor at every ocassion.     No. Starting Team   Goals
Wythall gained a corner on 22 minutes, & saw George Sturdy's dangerous    1 Xavier PARKER
corner evade everyone & end up in the back of the net for 3-0.   4 Jordan LINTON - MAISEY
HALF TIME:  WYTHALL 3,  PS BOYS  0   5 Dylan PARRY
The 2nd half saw many changes to the Wythall team, to give eveyone a    6 Jack FOX
fair amount of time on the pitch, & try out different positions.  Wythall    11 Callum BRIDGEWATER
started slow as a result, & PS Boys started to get back into the game a    10 Charlie DONLAN © 2
little.  After soaking up  the pressure for 5 or so minutes though, it was   7 Kyle MULLALLY
back to Wythall controlling the game again.  Xavier Parker came out of    14 Austin WALKER - MANI
goal & went up front to support Jamie Hasker & instantly made an impact   16 Matthew COLLIER
when his powerful run into the 18 yard box, saw the ball just run a little too   8 Jamie HASKER   2
far ahead of him, but allowed Hasker to take control & smash the loose    9 George STURDY   1
ball past the PS Boys keeper for 4-0.  After a slow first 10 minutes or so, Tom
Edrop started getting the ball more, & made some good challenges &   No. Substitutes   Goals
great forward runs to pressure PS Boys once more.  A much better alround   18 Adam SANKEY
performance from him today, looking more confident on the ball, &    2 Tom EDROP
deservedly took away the Man of the Match trophy with him today.   12 Joe EDROP
Hasker wrapped the game up fro the 5-0 win on 43 minutes, when a    3 Scott SAUNDERS
great twisting & turning of Kyle Mullally out right saw an even better
danagerous coss find the unmarked Hasker 4 yards out, who simply    Results
guided the ball past the line for a great finish to a great alround
performance today.  Wythall invited PS Boys onto them for the remaining    Chelmsley  1,  Glades  5
5 minutes of the game, but held strong, with some brilliant last ditch    Headless Cross  2,  Santiago  1
tackling, & great clearances, to hold out for the clean sheet also.

Some brillaint performances ALL over the pitch today, I can't fault one
player, as a great team performance from everone.  Well done to you
all lads, we want to see that every week now - brilliant to watch.

WYTHALL JUNIORS   2 ,  Headless Cross   2        @ B&SRFC    * ******************************** *
    * Man Of The Match *
First game for a few weeks, & surprisingly the pitch was in great condition!   * Jamie HASKER *
Wythall not playing for a month, looked eager as ever in the warm up,    * ******************************** *
but could they transfer this onto the pitch?  Wythall started pretty well, but
for all the great play, it was Headless Cross who broke the deadlock on
12 minutes, when a counter-attack saw Xavier Parker save well in goal,
only for a free Headless Cross player to sweep the ball over the line from 6     League Division 4
yards out for 1-0.  This stirred up Wythall & they continued to attack      Sun 13th December 2009
straight away.  Austin Walker-Mani's great run from outside left, saw him
continue his run inside, then up-ended for a free kick 23 yards out.  Charlie     Current Form
Donlan stepped up & hit his shot towards the R/H post.  George Sturdy      LLWWWD
flicked the ball on further, for a well taken finish & 1-1.  Wythall then
started to settle down, & play some football.  Just when they started   No. Starting Team   Goals
looking comfortable though, a great Donlan run saw him heavily fouled   1 Xavier PARKER
25 yards out, but only for the ref to wave the play on.  The resulting    4 Jordan LINTON - MAISEY
Headless cross move saw the ball end up in the back of the net albeit via   5 Dylan PARRY
some very poor defending for 2-1 to Headless Cross.  Headless Cross    6 Jack FOX
seemed to be going from strength to strength then, really pressing Wythall   11 Callum BRIDGEWATER
back, & causing chaos on several occasions.   10 Charlie DONLAN ©
HALF TIME:  WYTHALL  1,  HEADLESS CROSS  2   7 Kyle MULLALLY
The 2nd half saw a more even battle, with both teams counter-attacking   14 Austin WALKER - MANI
at every chance.  A position change for a couple of players saw Wythall    12 Joe EDROP
starting to gather momentum again, with Jamie Hasker reverting to Right   8 Jamie HASKER
Midfield & getting more stuck in.  It was Hasker's quick feet out Right that   9 George STURDY   2
gave him a little time to thread a brilliant through ball to Sturdy, who ran
30 yards before toeing the ball past the on coming keeper, rounding him    No. Substitutes   Goals
& cooly slotting the ball over the line from 12 yards out for 2-2.  The game    18 Adam SANKEY
then saw Wythall throwing everything at Headless Cross in belief they    2 Tom EDROP
could turn this game around at last.  Donlan had two 50/50 chances with   16 Matthew COLLIER
the Headless Cross keeper, that saw a great save & a bit of poor luck over
the both chances, to see the game still at 2-2.  With 3 minutes remaining
a Wythall onslaught saw everything & the kitchen sink thrown at them to    Results
get the ball over the line.  Sturdy had the best chance of the game to
also complete his hatrick, but his brilliant effort somehow swerved & hit    Fairfield  6,  Castle Brom  1
R/H post, & the ball bounce through several Wythall players in the area,    Glades  L,  Chelmsley  L
then away again, for another Headless Cross counter-attack.     Hampton  P,  Ulverley  P
A pretty fair result on the day, although Wythall seemed to play as though    Hollymoor  1,  PS Boys  2
they were still in bed at times!  Some good performances from certain    Santiago  P,  Oaklands  P
players, & some not too bad, but rather just lack lustre really.
Good luck to Headless Cross for the rest of the season, nice bunch of lads.

Brom just pipping Wythall to the finish line with a 3-2 win.  The Wythall
players looked up for the game today, right from start to finish, with some
good football on display.  The game started - as usual, with Wythall going
straight for the juggular.  The Wythall midfield dominated the play, & put     League Division 4
some excellent moves together to start opening up Castle Brom.  The     Sun 15th Nov 2009
best move of the 1st half, saw the opening goal on 7 minutes, when
George Sturdy held up the ball just inside the Wythall half, played a nice      Current Form
ball back to Charlie Donlan, who rounded a Castle Brom player & set     LLWWLW
Sturdy racing through with a superb through ball.  Sturdy ran 25 yards, then
scored calmly from 18 yards into the far L/H bottom corner past the    No. Starting Team   Goals
advancing Castle Brom keeper.  The 2nd goal came on 13 minutes, when    1 Xavier PARKER   1
a Donlan freekick saw Jordan Linton-Maisey head on & over the Castle    4 Jordan LINTON - MAISEY   1
Brom keeper for 2-0.  Donlan, having set up the 1st two goals, then turned   5 Dylan PARRY
scorer, when he finished off easily for 3-0.   6 Jack FOX
HALF TIME: WYTHALL 3,  CASTLE BROM  0   16 Matthew COLLIER
The 2nd half saw Wythall continue to dominate the game, & play some   11 Callum BRIDGEWATER
more decent football.  Wythall were awarded a penalty on 32 minutes,    10 Charlie DONLAN © 2
after some good running & dribbling from Kyle Mullally, saw him fouled in   7 Kyle MULLALLY
the Castle Brom area.  Xavier Parker came out of goal to smash his spot -   14 Austin WALKER - MANI
kick into the bottom L/H corner for 4-0.  Adam Sankey then got in on the    12 Joe EDROP
act on 41 minutes, on his return game after injury, powering into the    9 George STURDY   1
Castle Brom penalty area, before hitting a cracking right foot drive across
the Castle Brom keeper into the far bottom L/H corner for 5-0.  Wythall    No. Substitutes   Goals
then wrapped up the game on 45 minutes, when Donlan got his 2nd of   18 Adam SANKEY   1
the game with another great finish from 14 yards, again across the keeper   2 Tom EDROP
to finish the Wythall scoring at a total tally of 6.
Castle Brom got a late concellation goal on 48 minutes, when a lapse in
concentration saw the Castle Brom forward break through & strike a
great effort across goal.  Parker made a good save, but could only palm    Results
the ball across the face of the goal, to an unmarked Castle Brom player
who despite the great effort to get back across the goal from Parker,    PS Boys  1,  Hollymoor  0
managed to finish calmly from 2 yards for a final 6-1 scorline.   Santiago  P,  Chelmsley  P

Great effort from EVERY player today, shows what can happen, when you
all play as a team, & pass the ball effectively.  In this kind of form, Wythall
should start climbing up the table, where they should be.
Well done to CALLUM, who as ever, worked tiredlessly again all match.

Today saw Wythall travel over to current top of the Premier League table   * George STURDY *
leaders West Hagley.  Wythall have played West Hagley in the past, a few   * ******************************** *
years ago, so knew all about the problems they could cause Wythall.  To
be a little cautious, Wythall went to a 4-5-1 formation, & this was the big
downfall of the day.  Wythall struggled with the formation, not being
able to get to grips with West Hagleys attacks.  West Hagley basically      Open Cup Round 3
penned Wythall back into their own half for the duration of the half,      Sun 8th Nov 2009
although when Wythall made their only two attacks of the half almost
scored both.  West Hagley went 1-0 up on 13 minutes, when the no.22,      Current Form
turned his marker on the edge of the Wythall penalty area, then fired left     LLLWWL
footed low & hard into the bottom R/H corner.  Wythall then pushed on
& allowed Kyle Mullally to go through, muscle into the Hagley area, & see   No. Starting Team   Goals
his well hit shot palmed upwards by the keeper & away for a corner.  Matt   1 Xavier PARKER
Collier then added his weight to the attack 5 minutes later, when his shot    8 Tom EDROP
was just pushed onto the post & away again.  Xavier Parker returning in    10 Dylan PARRY
goal this week, then made a number of brilliant saves, until Hagley then    9 Jack FOX
extended their lead to 2-0 on 20 minutes.  Hagley scored once more   7 Jordan LINTON - MAISEY
before half time for 3-0, after Parker made another great stop, only to see    4 Callum BRIDGEWATER
the ball drop over the line.   5 Matthew COLLIER ©
HALF TIME: WEST HAGLEY  3,  WYTHALL 0   3 Kyle MULLALLY
Wythall then adopted a 3-5-2 formation for the 2nd half, & they sprang to    2 Austin WALKER - MANI
life.  Callum Bridgewater held the midfield together much better, working   6 Joe EDROP
tiredlessly up & down, which allowed Mullally to venture into dangerous    14 George STURDY
areas, & push Hagley back.  Wythall started to look much more organised
again, & more resilliant at the back, with Jack Fox, having the game of   No. Substitutes   Goals
his life today, stopping attack after attack.  Austin Walker-Mani after a    12 Charlie DONLAN
very good 1st half, extended his new found confidence into the 2nd half,   11 Jamie HASKER
running at the West Hagley right back & right midfield more & more,
completing his best performance by a mile in a Wythall shirt today.
Although Wythall starting having the ball more & more, & gaining more
& more confidence as the game went on, the task was way too massive   Results
to pull back 3 goals against a top team.  Wythall unable to capitalise on
the good moves they were making, were punished once more on 40 mins   Castle Brom  0,  Fairfield  7
when Hagley went 4-0 up, albeit a great finish though.   Chelmsley  0,  Oaklands 4
    Hampton  4,  Hollymoor  1
I must apologise to all the players today, for letting them down, being
way to cautious to start with.  - this basically cost us the match.  If we
had of started as we had the previous two weeks, the game MAY have
been a very different outcome…..but we'll never know.
Wythall host their 1st Home game next week against Castle Brom.

    * Man Of The Match *
Wythall faced Hollymoor today over at Sennelleys Park, on a horrible wet   * George STURDY *
& windy day, but surprisingly after walking across a terribly heavy &    * ******************************** *
muddy pitch on the way, was met with a pretty ok pitch, although on
a bit of a slope.  The game kicked off & Wythall started quick out  of the
blocks again as usual, but never really settled down & played football.
The last couple of weeks have seen Wythall play some lovely football, &     League Division 4
some great attacking play, but the entire 1st half saw individuals going     Sun 1st Nov 2009
back to infant style play, keeping the ball far too long themselves,
running past the ball & leaving the ball to be easily collected by the     Current Form
opposition, who started to gain more confidence the more the half     WLLLWW
played out.   Matthew Collier playing in defence for the 2nd week
running was superb, in coming to the rescue on a number of occasions,   No. Starting Team   Goals
to stop Hollymoor creating any real clear cut chances.  Just as though   1 Jordan LINTON - MAISEY
Hollymoor were on the up, gaining a couple of corners on the way,    16 Matthew COLLIER
Wythall made their only good move of the game to open up Hollymoor   5 Dylan PARRY
& score as a result for 1-0.  The goal came, when Kyle Mullally gained the   6 Jack FOX
ball out wide on the right, teased the Hollymoor defender, with his quick   12 Joe EDROP
feet, the crossed low & hard across goal, leaving George Sturdy with the   11 Callum BRIDGEWATER
simple task for scoring from 2 yards out.   10 Charlie DONLAN © 1
HALF TIME:  HOLLYMOOR  0, WYTHALL 1   7 Kyle MULLALLY   1
The 2nd half saw Wythall wake up & start to play some football at last.   11 Austin WALKER - MANI
When they played the ball on the deck, they looked awesome, & opened   8 Jamie HASKER
Hollymoor right up, unfortunately, the final decision was missing & the    9 George STURDY   3
ball ended up coming back again at the Wythall defence time & time
again.  Just as though it looked as though it was going to be one of    No. Substitutes   Goals
those days again,  Sturdy turned on the magic & was sent though, to    2 Tom EDROP
cooly slide the ball past the Hollymoor keeper for 2-0.  This suddenly saw
the confidence rise once more, & Sturdy then got his chance for his
hatrick, which he took with both hands, & scored brilliantly for another
well deserved hatrick.  Charlie Donlan then scored with a sublime finish
on 41 minutes, when he cut in from the left, then dispatched his shot    Results
across goal for 4-0.  Mullally then topped off the end result, when he was
put through by Collier, dodged one tackle, rounded the keeper, went too   Castle Brom  8, Headless  1
far, came back around another defender, & guided his shot around the    Fairfield P, Oaklands  P
keeper, & two defenders finally into the far L/H bottom corner for 5-0.   Glades  P,  Ulverley  P

around, carrying on the routine of not playing the same starting 11 for
two weeks on the trot.  Wythall though started the game attacking
Santiago from the word go, & never letting their feet off the gas almost
for the whole game.  The main danger man again today was Kyle      League Division 4
Mullally, who got hold of the ball & dominated the attacking play.  His     Sun 25th Oct 2009
persistance paid off when his dribble out wide on the right, ended
when his cross-come-shot looped over the keeper into the back of the      Current Form
net for 1-0.  Santiago then had a good 5 minute spell when the forward     WWLLLW
line appeared to get closer together with some good support from the
midfield to start looking as though they had gone with 3 men up top.   No. Starting Team   Goals
The short spell ended though when a counter-attack by Wythall ended
