    Lyne FC Goals

Wythall Juniors FC & Lyne FC, hold an annual Challenge Shield event at each others venues.  This year was the turn of Lyne FC to host the event, so Wythall took 4 teams down to Surrey on the outskirts of London to Challenge for the Lyne FC vs Wythall Juniors Challenge Shield.

This years teams challenging were the Under7s, Under9s, Under11s & Under14s (for the 2007/08 Season).

The 1st game saw the Under 11s age group up.  In a VERY entertaining game, Wythall won the game 2-0, with a brilliant display of football & two very good goals to accompany the end result.

1-0 to Wythall!!

The 2nd game saw the Under14s pitted against each other.  In what was a very high paced & physical game, Wythall showed true class to run out eventual 8-0 winners!  The game was extremely entertaining & well worth the long haul down to London just for that one alone.

2-0 to Wythall!!

The 3rd game pitted the Under7s together.  Lyne FC could only muster up 5 players, so it was agreed to play a 5-a-side game.  Because of FA rules & regulations involving this age group, the final score & result can not be printed.  The game though was very entertaining, with great spirited support throughout & both teams played well.  Wythall were not only a credit to the club as a whole, but showed what a bright future they have.

The 4th game pitted the Under9s against each other.  The game kicked off & Kyle Mullally went straight though & scored a great goal from 14 yards out into the bottom corner for 1-0, inside the 1st minute.  Wythall then doubled their lead a minute later, when Jamie Hasker scored his 1st of the game, finishing from 5 yards out into the top right hand corner.   Lyne then hit back on a counter attack, to pull the game back 2-1.  Wythall then took total control to the final whistle, racking up a final tally of 11 goals, with Lyne replying once more, for a final score of 11-2.  The goal scorers, were as follows:  Jamie Hasker (4), Charlie Donlan (3), Kyle Mullally (2), Jack Fox, & Xavier Parker in goal came out for the final 10 minutes to score also.

On a very good day of football on Wythall's behalf,  they rightly ran out the Challenge Shield Winners for 2008, with a clean sweep, & dominated the day completely.  Lets hope next year up at our home ground, that we can repeat the results again to regain the Shield in 2009.
